* If you receive 26 paychecks per year, please select 24 as two of your paychecks are exempt from dues deductions.
** Members with contracts shorter than a full academic year will face different paycheck deductions in the Fall than in the Spring. It is important to note that their annual affiliation dues are deducted during their first semester of work each academic year. If you have any questions in this regard, please contact the Chapter Treasurer.

Where Dues Are Utilized
Where Dues Are Utilized
- 0.6% (.006) of your base salary goes to the UPI Local. These funds are used to support:
- The administrative costs of running the Local
- Funding the Militancy Fund
- Funding the Legal Defense Fund
- Affiliate Dues:
- A portion of members' dues go to AFT, IFT, and the chapters' local labor council. IFT & AFT return some of these funds to the Local.
- A portion goes to provide $1,000,000 liability insurance.
- A portion goes to provide members with $36,520 in Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance.
- A small portion goes to political activity, which members can choose to redirect to an educational fund.
